Phượt is an app for road trips. This page tells what Phượt keeps about you, why, who sees it, and how you delete it.

What Phượt keeps

  • Your account: your name, your email, and the hash of your password if you make one.
  • Your trips: the plan, the stops, the notes, and the links for your family.
  • Your positions during a live trip: the place, the time, the accuracy and the speed. They are the track of the trip, and stay until you delete the trip.
  • Your fog: the cells of about 50 m where your phone was, with no time. With no live trip, the app of your phone clears the fog only while it shows on the screen.
  • Your finds: the peaks, the passes, the viewpoints and the towns that you found, and when.
  • Your photos: the images, with their place, time and caption. The app removes the other data of an image. A private photo is encrypted with your photo password: Phượt cannot open it.
  • Your private places, your saved routes, and your devices (the model of your phone or of your car).
  • The reports of the road that you send. The other drivers do not see your name, and a report ends after some hours.
  • In a car: the fuel, the battery and the range of the car, for the day ahead.

Why

Only to give you the app: your map, your trips, the arrivals, the safety switch for your family, and the reports of the road. No ads, no sale of data, no analytics, and no tracking.

Who sees it

  • Your family: each person with a link of a trip sees its plan, its track, your last position, and the photos that are not private. Your private places hide your positions, or show less detail.
  • The travelers of a trip see the positions of each traveler of that trip.
  • Each person with the address of a trip that you made public. A trip is private when you make it.
  • The services that Phượt uses, only for their work:
    • Cloudflare: the host of the site, of the data and of the photos. It sends the emails.
    • The maps (OpenFreeMap, and the Terrain Tiles of AWS for the relief and the heights): your phone or your browser asks them for the part of the map that it shows, with your IP address.
    • The roads, the places and the traffic (Valhalla and OSRM of FOSSGIS, BRouter, Photon of komoot, and TomTom): the server sends them the places of your stops, of your searches and of your road.
    • The flights (AeroDataBox, adsb.lol, adsb.fi): the server sends them the number of a flight of your trip.
    • OpenStreetMap: a note that you send. With your account of OpenStreetMap, the note has your name there.
    • mkfifo.com: it encrypts and decrypts your private photos, and sends the alerts by text message. It keeps no copy.

How long

Until you delete it, or delete your account. A trip of a guest (no account) goes 30 days after its last change. The logs of Cloudflare keep the addresses of the pages for a short time.

Your choices

  • Delete a trip, a photo, a private place, a saved route or a device when you want.
  • Download the track of a trip as a GPX file.
  • Delete your account and all its data at once: Settings, then "Delete your account".
  • Cookies: only the ones that the site needs: your session (60 days), "stay logged in" (14 days), and the language (1 year). No cookie of another site.
